James M. Brady of Stockton, MD, until recently a resident of Ocala, FL, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. He was 55 years old.
Born in Annapolis, MD on June 19, 1968, James was the son of the late James Morris “Poochie” Brady and Patricia Ann Sterling Brady. He is preceded in death by his long-time companion, Sheri Hurt.
James (Jimmy) was originally from Grasonville, MD. As a young man, he was a thoroughbred racehorse jockey at many tracks in Maryland and then became a horse trainer/exerciser in both West Virginia and Florida for many years. Due to a horse injury, Jimmy had to retire from his love of horses.
In addition to horses, Jimmy loved his family, sportscars, seafood, spending time out on the Chesapeake Bay and his beloved dog Chase, whom he often referred to as “a little man with fur”.
Jimmy is survived by two sisters, Debbie Callahan of Centreville, MD and Jean Rose and her husband, Rick, of Stockton, MD; a sister-in-law, Patty Asquith of Jessup, MD and many nieces and nephews who adored him. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joseph Asquith, and a sister, Teresa Jones.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 pm on January 5th, in the Green Mount Cemetery located on Cemetery Road in Hillsboro, MD.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate.
