James “Jim” Earl Sloan passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at his home in Easton, MD. He was 92 years old.
Born in Eau Claire, PA, Mr. Sloan was the son of the late Earl Sloan and Esther Snyder Sloan. He was a 1951 graduate of Grove City College in Grove City, PA.
Mr. Sloan was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for many years as an analyst for the Department of Defense at the NSA, retiring in 1985. He was a member of The Phoenix Society and attended the Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Seaford, DE.
Mr. Sloan is preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Sloan, and a son, Bruce Sloan. He is survived by his second wife of eighteen years, Peggy S. Sloan of Easton; a daughter, Pamela Ferrante (Joseph) of Laurel, DE; three grandchildren: Lauren, Brian, and Jason; four stepchildren: Garry Ebling (Judy) of Galestown, MD, Judi Loscomb (Bud) of Easton, Bryan C. Ebling (Barbara) of Ridgely, MD, and Regina Ebling-Douglas (Mike) of Orlando, FL; nine step grandchildren: Dan, Rachel, Neil, Janine, Sarah, Justin, Lauren, Lily, and Daniel; and 12 step great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at one o’clock on Tuesday, December 27th at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery Chapel located near Hurlock, MD. There is not a visitation time before the service at the cemetery.
