James "Jimmy" E. Blizzard

     James Edward Blizzard “Jimmy” of Cordova, MD passed away, surrounded by his loved ones, on February 22, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on August 13th, 1943, in Baltimore, MD, to the late Dorothy Virginia Bridge and Howard Martin Blizzard. Jimmy married the love of his life, Joyce Marie Redden, in August of 1962. They had two children, followed by several foster children that they considered their own.

     In the early years, Jimmy was paid farm help before he went for his G.E.D. in 1982. He was a member of the Local Union #486 since July of 1966. He worked through his Apprenticeship and became Journeyman Pipefitter. Jimmy worked for Johnson Controls for several years before moving on to Honeywell. He worked for Honeywell for over 30 years and loved every minute of it until he retired. Jimmy also assisted with his Wife’s in-home care company through its entirety. They loved taking care of people. Jimmy was a Lifetime Member of The Easton Moose Lodge, the Easton Elks, and The Choptank River Yacht Club. Over the years, Jimmy enjoyed dancing with his late wife, playing cards with his friends, and cooking his family a nice dinner. Jimmy showed his love through food and jokes. He was so proud of the family they built.

     Jimmy is survived by two children: Linda Laird (Glenn), daughter and James Blizzard II (Stephanie), son; five grandchildren: Kevin Hackett II (Nichole), Kelley Hackett (Michael), Noel Blizzard-Harris (Brandon), Lillian Blizzard (Rodney), and Abigail Redden; two great-grandchildren: Grayson Hackett and Paislee Hackett; Kevin Hackett Sr, son-in-law; Howard “Junior” Blizzard, brother; Harold Hutchison (Marie), brother-in-law; Joanie Cunningham (Bobby), sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews that he adored. In addition to his parents, Dorothy & Howard Blizzard Jimmy was preceded in death by Joyce Blizzard, wife; Regenia Hutchison, sister; William “Bill” Blizzard, brother; Linda Blizzard, sister-in-law and Barbara Blizzard, sister-in-law.

     Friends may visit from 10 to 12noon on Tuesday, March 3, at Moore Funeral Home, P.A. 12 S. 2nd St. The funeral service will follow at 12noon. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery Cordova, MD. The family requests donations to Moore Funeral Home, P.A. 12 S. 2nd St. Denton, MD 21629.
