Janet Ann Semple

     Janet Ann Semple of Denton, MD, formerly of Wellesley, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Arcadia II in Denton, MD. She was 79 years old.

     Born in Newton, MA on November 10, 1945, Janet was the daughter of the late James Alexander Semple and Helen Mae Clark Semple. She was a 1964 graduate of Wellesley High School.

     Janet moved to Maryland’s Eastern Shore three years ago to be near her family. Previously, she had been a hospital mail clerk and later worked in the hospitality department at a local inn. Janet lived simply and shared her gentle spirit with all who knew her. She enjoyed crafting and was interested in astrology, tracking the weather, and learning about gemstones.

     Janet is survived by her sister, Patricia McPhelim of Easton, MD; a niece, Susannah McPhelim of St. Michaels, MD; and a nephew, Matthew McPhelim of Bethesda, MD.

     Services will be private. If friends would like to make a donation in Janet’s memory, the family suggests that donations be sent to Compass Hospice, 160 Coursevall Dr., Centreville, MD 21617.
