Janice Lee Wright of Denton, MD, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 7, 2025. She was 87 years old.
Born in Greensboro, MD on August 27, 1938, Mrs. Wright was the daughter of the late James Homan Pippin and Pauline Elizabeth Walls. Her husband, Charles Kenneth Wright (Ebby) passed away on February 17, 1991.
Mrs. Wright had been a clerk at the Peoples Bank of Maryland in Denton for many years until she retired. She had also enjoyed substituting for several years at North Caroline High School. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Greensboro where she enjoyed singing in the choir since she was a young girl. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, spending time with her family was the most important part of her life.
Mrs. Wright is survived by two sons, Robert J. Wright of Tampa, FL and Rick Wright of Denton; one daughter, Penny Smith (Brian) of Greensboro; five grandchildren: Kathryn Wright, Kennedy Correa (JD), Dalton Smith (Faye), Chase Smith (Jamie), and Sheridan Smith (Casey) as well as four great grandchildren: Ellie, Boone, Raelynn, and Foster. She is predeceased by a sister, Betty Pippin.
The funeral service will be 11 am on Friday, December 12th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A, located at 12 South Second Street in Denton where friends may call from 10 until 11 before the service. The interment will follow in Denton Cemetery.
