Jennifer M. Johnson

     Jennifer M. Johnson of Chester, MD passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long valiantly fought battle with a very aggressive breast cancer. Jennifer put up a fight every step of the way, telling her loved ones, “I’M NOT GIVING UP!”, until her very last breath. She was 38 years old.

     Born in Easton, MD on November 7, 1981, Jennifer was the daughter of the late Lawrence Otis Hignutt and Loretta May Hill Galloway. She was a 1999 graduate of North Caroline High School in Ridgely, MD.

     Jennifer was studying to be a cosmetologist and loved to fix ladies hair. She was an avid gardener who also loved animals, including her own dogs, cats, and chickens. She loved talking to anyone and loved cooking for friends and family. But, most of all, she loved her family and she loved Jesus.

     Jennifer is survived by her husband, Mark J. Johnson of Chester; a son, Mark Johnson, Jr. of Abingdon, MD; a daughter, Jessica Johnson of Chester; and a sister, Anna L. Bell (Kevin) of Grasonville. She was predeceased by her Stepmother/God Mother, Peggy Sauers.

     A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2 PM on Saturday, June 27th, at the Grasonville Fire Department Fire House located at 4128 Main Street in Grasonville, MD 21638.
