John W. Kanarr of Hurlock, MD, passed away suddenly at his home. He was 76 years old.
Born in Indiana, PA on February 5, 1948, John was the son of the late Paul Emerson Kanarr and Mary Christine McDonald Kanarr. He was a 1966 graduate of North Caroline High School.
John moved to Denton, MD when he was in the 10th grade. After High School, he served for six years in the MD National Guard. For many years, John has been a truck driver for many farms and other businesses in the mid-shore area and was still driving. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who greeted everyone with a big smile, John was also a dedicated member of his church, Christ Methodist Church in Federalsburg, MD.
John is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, S. Marie Kanarr of Hurlock; a daughter, Amy Kanarr Maugle (Gary Brock) of Wilmington, NC; a son, Christopher John Kanarr (Shelley Warner) of Hurlock; three brothers: David Michael Kanarr (Stephanie Friday) of Columbia Crossroads, PA, Eric Scott Kanarr of Prince Frederick, MD, and Kenneth Emerson Kanarr of Owings Mills, MD; three sisters: Paula Jane Gunson of Seaford, DE, Mary Louise Phillips of Denton, and Sue Harris (Donald) of Denton; five grandchildren: Connor Naugle, Abby Naugle, Kate Naugle, Chazz Kanarr, and Jersey Kanarr (Corey Johnson); and two great grandchildren, Marley Kanarr and Drake Dove. He was predeceased by three brothers: Ronald Paul Kanarr, Donald Patrick Kanarr, and Aaron Kanarr.
A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, December 13th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. at 12 S. Second Street in Denton where friends may visit with the family from 11 to 12 before the service. Pastor Michael McDermott will officiate. The interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery, Federalsburg. If friends wish to send memorial donations in memory of John, the family suggests sending them to Christ Methodist Church, 201 S. Main Street, Federalsburg, MD 21632.
