John Emil Poeske

     John E. Poeske of Critz, VA, passed away at his home in Critz, VA on August 23, 2019. He was 81 years old.

     Born in Wausau, Wisconsin, Mr. Poeske had been in the United States Air Force, stationed in Langerkopf, Germany from 1958 - 1966. He owned and operated J&R Paint Paper Company and worked with his father at Poeske Painting and Wall papering Company. He loved auctions and “Antiquing”.

     Mr. Poeske is survived by his wife, Diane Poeske of Critz, VA; a daughter, Joan M. Garver (Barry) of Denton, MD; a sister, Donna Mae Konkol (Robert) of Mosinee, WI; and a grandson, Christian Drew of Denton; two nieces Roberta Johnson (Doug), and Marcia Konkol (Mike); and two nephews Robert Konkol and Mark Konkol (Gladys).

     A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, October 7th, at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery located at 6927 E. New Market Road, Hurlock, MD 21643. If friends wish to donate to a charity in memory of Mr. Poeske, the family suggests donating to the Mountain Valley Hospice, 22099 Jeb Stuart Hwy, Stuart, VA 24171.
