Joseph J. Walbert, Jr. of Denton, MD, passed away at TidalHealth (Peninsula General) in Salisbury, MD on Friday, December 30, 2022. He was 79 years old.
Born in Ridgely, MD, on February 18, 1943, Mr. Walbert was the son of the late Joseph J. Walbert, Sr. and Anna Mae Bostic Walbert.
Mr. Walbert had been a waterman on the Bay. He had also been a heavy crane operator having, among many other construction projects, worked on the second Chesapeake Bay Bridge. He also loved wood working and building items such as wooden lawn furniture and planters.
Mr. Walbert is survived by his wife, Patricia E. Walbert of Denton; a son, Joseph M. Walbert, Sr. (Patty Morgan) of Delmar, DE; a daughter, Sandra L. Lawrence (Patrick) of Henderson, MD; six grandchildren: Amber Walbert (Jake Neel), Kaitlyn Smith, Rayne Lawrence (Zach Baynum), Joseph Hunter Jester, Joseph M. Walbert, Jr., and Airieonna Walbert (Jacob Wagner, Jr.); three great grandchildren: DaKoda Walbert, Kaiden Smith, MaKayla Smith, and soon to be here, MaKynzLee J. Neel; and a special person in Mr. Walbert’s life, Amy Cooper of Ridgely, MD. He was preceded in death by two sons, John Richard Walbert and Joseph J. Walbert, III; a brother and his wife, William and Mary Elizabeth Walbert; and two sisters: Ellen and her husband, Warren Dawson, and Patsy Anthony.
There will be an 11 AM service Saturday, January 7th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street in Denton where friends may call from 10 until 11 before the service.
