Joyce Ann Morris of Henderson, MD, formerly of Denton, MD, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Bayhealth Hospital in Dover, DE. She was 87 years old
Born at home in Denton on August 17, 1938, Mrs. Morris was the daughter of the late Charles Dawson Roe and Ruth Pauline Magrogan Roe. Her husband, Clinton “Sonny” B. Morris died May 7, 1998.
Mrs. Morris was a 1956 graduate of Caroline High School in Denton. She worked for the Caroline County Board of Education. In 1967, she went to work for the Caroline County Social Services as an Administrator in Child Support Services, retiring April 1,1992. She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church in Denton. In addition, she was a wonderful warm and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Mrs. Morris is survived by a son, R. Wayne Morris (Beverly) of Henderson; a daughter, Tammy M. Todd (Mark) of Felton, DE; and three grandchildren: John Boland (Aquilla) and his children Mykayla and Hazel, Haley Kelsall (Casey) and her son Jaxson, and Bobby Todd (Jamie) and his children Raelyn and Lennon. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Dawson Roe, and a grandchild, Amber Nicole Morris in 1991.
Mrs. Morris had a loving way of becoming very close with all of her neighbors, but there was a special bond with Diana and Mike Beulah and their son Cameron. She also loved her sidekick Anna Hutson-Hatten who spent most of her childhood over at Ms. Joyce’s house with Lucky and Princess.
Friends may call at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 South Second Street in Denton from 9:30 until 10:45 AM on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 followed by an 11 o’clock Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at the St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church on First Street in Denton. The interment will follow in the Denton Cemetery.
