Karen Louise Knox of Ridgely, MD passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old.
Born in Easton, MD on June 29, 1948, Mrs. Knox was the daughter of the late Frederick Irwin and Doris Harriet Eaton Towers. She had lived her entire life in Caroline County.
Mrs. Knox was a 1966 graduate of North Caroline High School. She worked for many years for ACME, retiring in 1992. She then drove Caroline County school bus #9. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she liked to read. In addition, one of her delights was eating steamed crabs.
Mrs. Knox is survived by her husband, Larry E. Knox of Ridgely; two daughters: Dawn M. Seymore (Dave) of Bridgeville, DE and Tracy L. Southard (Ricky) of Federalsburg, MD; one stepdaughter, Amy L. Dean (Darren) of Bloomingdale, OH; six siblings: Freda Johnson of Federalsburg, Lynda Satchell of Denton, Fred Irwin of Kodak, TN, Billy Irwin of Federalsburg, and Ricky Irwin of Federalsburg, and Jackie Irwin of Federalsburg; two stepsisters, Debbie Hartness and Pam Maddox; three grandchildren: Tyler Loftus, Natalie Southard, and Elliott Dean; two great grandchildren, Jared Loftus and Mason Loftus. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy Irwin; a granddaughter, Patricia Southard; her stepfather, John Towers; and her little dog, Annie.
An 11am memorial service will be held on Monday, February 2nd, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 North Second Street in Denton where friends may visit with the family from 10 until 11 before the service. If friends wish to send memorial donations, the family suggests sending them to Compass Regional Hospice, 160 Coursevall Dr., Centreville, MD 21617.
