Kathy Ann Shaffer Dill of Denton, MD, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 25, 2021. She was 68 years old.
Born in Easton, MD, Mrs. Dill was the daughter of the late George Wise Shaffer, Jr. and Dorothy Louise Cahall Shaffer Manship. She spent her whole life in Caroline County. She was a 1970 graduate of North Caroline High School in Ridgely, MD. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Master's in Administration from Salisbury University.
Mrs. Dill started her educational career as a pre-school teacher at Denton Child Development Center. She then went on to become a middle school teacher in Caroline County followed by an administration position in the Talbot County school system. She spent almost 30 years in the education field before retiring in 2016. She was currently serving as a member of the Caroline County School Board. She was also a member of the Sarah Circle at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Denton and other women's groups and service organizations. Kathy was a devoted wife to her husband of 50 years and a supportive, fun-loving, and selfless mother to her two daughters. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. Her most-coveted role was "Grammy." She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, trips to the beach, vacationing in the Outer Banks and Williamsburg, baking, flower gardening, holiday celebrations, shopping, dining-out and getting together with friends. Kathy was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind so many beautiful and cherished memories.
Mrs. Dill is survived by her loving husband, E. Dennis Dill of Denton, the two were high school sweethearts, married in 1971; two daughters: Julie Wilson (Toby) of Ellicott City, MD and Denise K. West (Wayne) of Bishopville, MD; two grandchildren, Sosie Wilson and Owen West, whom she adored to the fullest and many other friends.
There will be a memorial visitation from 6pm until 8pm on Thursday evening, April 29th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street in Denton. The interment will be private.
