Kevin Henry Dean McFerren of Denton, MD, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at his home. He was 67 years old.
Born in New Kensington, PA on March 4, 1956, Mr. McFerren was the son of the late Henry McFerren and Catherine Marion Barlett McFerren. He was a US Marine veteran.
Mr. McFerren had been a heavy equipment operator his whole life. He was a member of Local 77 (previously he had been in Local 66) Operating Engineers (IUOE). He had been a Champion Bull rider while in the military. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved animals, and loved to go crabbing. Kevin also enjoyed riding and repairing motorcycles.
Mr. McFerren is survived by three daughters: Barbara Johns (Justin) of Shelocta, PA, Donna Smith (Alan) of Tarentum, PA, and Lisa Olbeter (William) of New Kensington, PA; a sister, Suzanne Danko (Tom) of Rose Haven, MD; a brother, Jason McFerren (Karen) of Clearborne, TX; numerous grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be private. If friends wish to send memorial donations in memory of Mr. McFerren, the family suggests sending them to The Divine Redeemer School, 726 4th Ave., Ford City, PA 16226.
