Laura Pate Willis of Daphne, AL, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 64 years old.
Born at the Patuxent River Naval Base in St. Mary’s County, MD on May 7, 1960, Ms. Willis was the daughter of the late Allen Sharkey Pate of Mobile, AL and the late Martha Jane Orme Pearsall and her late husband, N. Joseph Pearsall, III. Shortly after graduating from North Caroline High School in 1978, Ms. Willis moved to AL where she was a dedicated and respected District Manager at Waffle House for 20 years throughout the Daphne, Fairhope, and Bay Minette area. Upon leaving the service industry, she pursued a career in Real Estate within the Spanish Fort area. In the last few years of her life, Ms. Willis dedicated her life to taking care of her Father.
Ms. Willis was an avid animal lover from an early age. She rode horses as a child, rescued dogs, and helped her father rescue and raise turtles in his backyard sanctuary. She enjoyed long and deep conversations with friends, being outdoors gardening, and above all loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Ms. Willis was preceded in death by her sister Martha Blackistone Godfrey (Tom) of Denton, MD, and is survived by her son, Adam Stevens Willis (Ashley) of Daphne, AL; her daughters, Madison Hall Willis of Pensacola, FL and Hannah Louise Willis of Mobile, AL; a brother, Allen (Sam) Sharkey Pate, Jr. (Dana) of Denton, MD; three grandchildren, Abigail Willis of Daphne, AL, Easton Lin of Mobile, AL, Lennon Bowman of Pensacola, FL; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held in Daphne, AL.
