Leon Collins, Jr. “Hammy” of Greensboro, MD, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was 64 years old.
Born in Easton, MD in 1957, Hammy was the son of Leon Collins, Sr. of Seaford and Verna Lee Clark Humphries of Greensboro. He is predeceased by his wife, Gwen Collins. He had worked in construction as a sheet rock worker and had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles.
In addition to his mother and father, Hammy is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Collins Yancy of Boston, VA; brother, Patrick Earl Collins (Michelle) of Denton, MD; a sister, Lisa Hubbard (Rodney) of Greensboro; a step brother, Carl Lee “Termite” Davis of Denton ; four nephews: Matthew Newnam of Cambridge, MD and Christopher Newnam of Snow Hill, MD, Terry Collins of Denton and Dustin Collins of North Carolina; a niece, Candy Newnam of Snow Hill; and a great nephew, Jaden Newnam of Greensboro.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 until 7 on Saturday evening, March 20, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A.in Denton. The service and interment will be private.
