Margaret Amelia Asche of Cordova, MD, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 27, 2022. She was 99 years old.
Born in Cambridge, MD, Mrs. Asche was the daughter of the late Ernest August Giese and Theresa Horwath Giese. Her husband, Ferdinand William Asche, passed away on February 20, 2012.
Mrs. Asche was a homemaker. When she married Mr. Asche in 1949, she moved to Cordova where they were members of the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and there was always something blooming in her yard from Spring to Fall. She also enjoyed fishing at the ponds on the farm.
Mrs. Asche is survived by two daughters, Connie J. Libera of Washington, D.C. and Susan M. Asche of Easton, MD; one son, Kenneth W. Asche (Karen) of Cordova; five grandchildren: Ann Correa (Jason), Billy Asche, Douglas Endzel (Amy), Justin Endzel, and Megan Callahan (Paul); and 8 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jane Asche of Easton; and a very special friend and her family, Cathy Weems of Cordova. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Bertha L. Bradshaw, Emma T. Saathoff, Louise A. Giese, and Elizabeth G. Bosse; and one brother, William Giese. The family also extends its warmest thank-you to Rose Warrington Hood and Dawn West who cared for her and made her final days pleasant.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 4th, at the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Blades Road in Cordova where friends may call from 10 until 11 before the service. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
