Margaret "Peggy" Hutchison

Margaret Ann Hutchison (Peggy) of Ridgely, MD, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the UM Shore Medical Center at Easton, MD after a long illness.  She was 84 years old.

     Born in Newark, DE on February 2, 1942, Mrs. Hutchison was the daughter of the late Clarence Cherry Ringgold and Erma Durnall Ringgold.  She and her family moved to Ridgely when she was a young child.

     Mrs. Hutchison was a 1960 graduate of North Caroline High School.  She was a public-school teacher and Guidance Counselor for the Queen Anne County Board of Education.  She taught and helped students in Church Hill, Centreville, and Stevensville for 39 years, retiring on July 1, 2006.  She was a lifetime member of the Ridgely Church of the Brethren where she played the organ for many years. Peggy loved all things antique. Peggy and her husband traveled all over the country attending antique and tractor shows. Most of all, she was a beloved and devoted wife, mother and nana.  Her passion and purpose in life were her granddaughters. 

     Mrs. Hutchison is survived by her husband, Stanley L. Hutchison, Sr. of Ridgely, to whom she was married for 61 years; two sons, S. Lee Hutchison, Jr. (Brandi) of Ridgely and Daniel C. Hutchison (Jana) of Ridgely; a sister, Marian R. Garey of Greensboro; and four granddaughters: Emma Hutchison, Lily Hutchison, Kattie Hutchison, and Anna Hutchison.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jane R. Dhue. 

     Friends may call from 6 until 8pm on Tuesday, July 21st, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., located at 12 S. Second Street in Denton, MD and from 10 until 11am on Wednesday, July 22nd at the Ridgely Church of the Brethren located at 110 Park Ave. in Ridgely, MD, where the funeral service will start at 11am. The interment is in the Greensboro Cemetery.
