Margaret Jean Parks of Seaford, DE died Monday January 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was 76 years old. Jean was born October 28, 1946 in Baltimore to the late Lewis McKinley Parks and Vera Merle Venable Parks.
Ms. Parks was an outdoor kind of gal who enjoyed hunting, fishing and just spending time with nature. She also loved to sing and could always be heard singing in the house.
Margaret Jean retired from the postal distribution center in Easton. She was a member of Postal Union and after retiring became very active with the VFW Womans Auxiliary Post 5246, Federalsburg, MD.
Ms. Parks is survived by her two children: Crystal Jean Jones (Kevin) of Harmony, MD, Norman Joseph “Joey” Wooters III (Barbara) of Greenwood, DE; eleven grandchildren: James K. Cannon (Brandi), Marlin Cannon (Betty), Phillip Wooters, Courtney Wooters, Greg Wooters, Brandie Rutherford, Krista Shapiro, Shelby Romer (Allen), Ambyr Jones, Arynn Jones; great-grandchildren; Austin Wooters (Kalee), Jasmine Perez, Emilio Perez, Brandon Perez, James “JL” Cannon, Jordan Cannon, Kealynn Cannon, Kinsley Romer, Kedan Romer, Paxton Jones Holdosi, Phoenix Baisch, Taryn Kehr, Brenna Rutherford, Colton Stiegler, Maddie Stiegler, Colton Burdette, Taitum Wooters, Henley Wooters, Philip “P.J.” Wooters, Keilani Wooters, Kinslee Burdette, Mason Tomlin, Cody Bull & Clara Sterling; two siblings: Fay Collins of Florida, and Cecil Parks (Betty) of Federalsburg, MD.
In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by brothers: Arlis Parks, Bill Parks, Wayne Parks, Robert Parks, Marlin Parks, Otis Parks; sisters, Dorothy Parks, Gladys Bradley, Mary Ellen Lane, Marie Wooters and Marylou Nichols; and a granddaughter Jeannie Cannon.
The family will be holding a celebration of life service at Harmony United Methodist Church, located 6235 Bethlehem Rd, Preston, MD 21655, on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 4 PM. Following the service the family invited friends to share a meal in the Fellowship Hall; covered dishes are appreciated but not necessary.
