Marianna Breeding

Marianna Breeding of Denton, Maryland passed away at her home on Sunday, September 15, 2024. She was 83 years old.

Marianna was born in New Castle, PA on August 22, 1941, to the late Carl Parker Bowen and Gertrude Marian Pape Bowen. Marianna married her husband John Marvin Breeding, Sr on November 28th,1964. They had two sons, John and Tony. She began working in 1972 at the Chesapeake Center in Easton, Md.  She retired after 34 years in 2006, as a certified vocational evaluator. Marianna loved crocheting and camping, but most of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and loved God and his church. She would frequently hand write prayers to give to others. She had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother and the Rosary. She would often lead the Rosary on the first Saturdays at St. Elizabeth’s church.

Marianna is survived by two sons: John M. Breeding (Lora), and Anthony P. Breeding; three grandchildren: Matthew Breeding (Aly), Erica Breeding McCready (Mat), and Gracie Dicus; four great-grandchildren: Judson Breeding, Grant Breeding, Jameson McCready, and Ethan McCready; five sisters: Mary Lou Barud, Patty Bowen-Moore (John), Mary Kay Fermanich (Nick), Mary Jo Sanford Northrop, and Mary Elizabeth Bowen; and her beloved dog, Beau. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Breeding was preceded in death by seven siblings: Mary Rose Bowen, Mary Margaret Bowen, Carol Ann Northrop, Mary Theresa Rustowicz, Carl Bowen, David Bowen, and Elaine Hoffman.

The viewing for Mrs. Breeding will be Friday, September 20, 2024, from 6-8PM at Moore Funeral Home, P.A. 12 S. 2nd St. Denton, MD 21629. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 21, 2024, 10:30AM at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church 108 First St. Denton, MD. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Greensboro.
