Mary C. Sullivan of Cambridge, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the home of her daughter in American Corner near Federalsburg, MD. She was 89 years old. Born in Denton, MD, on April 9, 1935, Mrs. Sullivan was the daughter of the late Jesse P. Spencer and Katherine Virginia Doran Spencer Downes. Her husband, Ralph Sullivan, died on October 14, 1998. Mrs. Sullivan worked for House of Lloyd Toys and Gifts for eleven years as a Party Planner, where she traveled the world on trips that she won from sales. She also worked in Retail, namely Silco, Charles and Fashion Bug. But most of all, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister who dearly loved her family and was deeply loved by them.
Mrs. Sullivan is survived by three daughters: Patricia Ann Daerda “TC” of Land of Lakes, FL; Sabrina Fishell (Kenny), of Federalsburg, and Silvana “Bonnie” Cullen (Ed) of Greenwood, DE; one son, Stephen W. Sullivan of Cambridge; eight grandchildren: Jennifer Hock (Bill), Norman Daerda, Jr. (Laura), Janna Zalewski (Matt), Eddie Cullen (Lee Marie), Kenny Fishell, III, (Kayla), Sheyenne Schwenck (Chris), Shane Sullivan (Jensey) and Spencer Sullivan: thirteen Great Grandchildren: Kaitlyn Hock, Alexis Daerda, Dallas Daerda, Austin Krieger, Gage Taylor, Kane Taylor, Callie Taylor, Felicity Cullen, Ryker Cullen, Olivia Fishell, Ryleigh Fishell, Branch Fishell and William “Liam” Schwenck (due in February) and one Great Great Grandchild: Aubrey Krieger. Two sisters also survive her: E. Jane Todd of Denton and A. Virginia Downes of Preston, MD. She was predeceased by her stepfather, Walter Downes; stepdaughters, Christine Milligan and Gloria Bartlett; granddaughters, Mindy Bartlett and Marley Sullivan; brothers Jesse P. Spencer, Jr., and Howard L. Spencer; sister, H. Jean Arthur; and a special cousin, Shirley Carnohan.
