Melinda Lynn Headrick of Roanoke, VA, formerly of Denton, MD, tragically passed away from an auto accident in Roanoke, VA on Monday, October 9, 2023. She was 43 years old.
Born in Easton, MD on December 16, 1979, Melinda was the daughter of Constance (Connie) Butler Hulliger and the late Joseph Daniel Wooters. She attended North Caroline High School in Ridgely, MD and moved to Roanoke in 2012. Her significant other, Matt Sink, passed away in the same accident.
Melinda was a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) at Carrington Cottage Memory Care and a Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN) at Friendship Salem Terrace. Known as “Mini Mom” by her family, she loved hiking, kayaking, elephants, and all animals, especially her 12 dogs. She loved the moon, stars, and sun with her favorite flower being sunflowers. She enjoyed spending time with her Pop-Pop, Cornelius Butler, but her most precious time was time she spent with her children.
In addition to her mother, Melinda is survived by seven children: Brittany Howard, 25, Roy Howard, 23, David Howard, 21, Savannah Burnell, 19, Jayden Howard, 17, Taylor Howard, 15, and Piper Wilson, 14; three sisters: Melanie Wooters, Meaghan Seymen, and Makayla Greenwood; and two brothers: Michael Hulliger and Maghnum Hastings. She is preceded in death by a sister, Melissa Anthony.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, October 17th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. in Denton where friends may call from 6 until 8 on Monday evening. The interment will be private.
