Michael Christopher Winstead, Sr. of Greensboro, MD, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018, at the University of MD Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. He was 56 years old.
Born in Easton, MD on May 29, 1962, Mr. Winstead was the son of Mallory B. Winstead and Mary Lou Gibson Winstead, both of Ridgely. He was a 1980 graduate of Easton High School and had lived in the mid-shore area all of his life. He had owned and operated Winstead’s Fire Equipment and was currently owner and operator of Winstead’s Transport. He was a Life Member of the Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company. He loved to go hunting and fishing, especially with his son. He also liked to go to Lancaster, PA to search for antiques. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and was a great husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Winstead is survived by his wife, Vicki J. Winstead of Greensboro; his daughter, Kristi Andrew (Jeremy) of Cordova; his son, Michael C. Winstead, Jr. (Lauren) of Denton; a sister, Mary Faye Lane of Delmar, DE; a brother Mallory Kevin Winstead of Queen Anne; a brother, Mark Winstead (Tracy) of Cordova; and four grandchildren: Shelby Andrew, Barrett Andrew, Christopher Winstead III, Cole Winstead, and one grandchild on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 14th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street in Denton where friends may call from 6 until 8 on Tuesday evening and from 10 until 11 on Wednesday before the service. The interment will be in the Ridgely Cemetery.
