Nellie Goad Rampmeyer of Trappe, MD, passed away at her home on Friday, December 2, 2022. She was 92 years old.
Born in Charlestown, MD on December 9, 1929, Nellie Rampmeyer was the daughter of the late Obie Dolph Goad and Rosie Della Nester Goad. She was a 1945 graduate of the Ridgely High School. In 1950 she married her high school sweetheart, Andrew Richard “Tommy” Rampmeyer and they settled in Ridgely and had a large family of five children. They then moved to Trappe in 1960 and made that their permanent family home. Her husband of 68 years Andrew Richard “Tommy” Rampmeyer passed away on June 19, 2018.
After spending many years raising her children, she then went into the work force. She became an Interviewer for Dorchester Social Services, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Trappe Wesleyan Church.
Nellie Rampmeyer is survived by two sons: Thomas R. Rampmeyer (Nancy) of Trappe and Robin J. Rampmeyer (Kim) of Florida: Her three daughters: Stacey L. Truitt (Spencer) of Preston, Regina Jo Dickerson of Trappe, Lisa R. Rampmeyer of Trappe. Her Grandchildren: Drew Dickerson (Jen), Sean Truitt (Kayt), Megan Engle (Jeff), and Angie Asmussen (Eric); five great grandchildren: Will, Bo, Madi, Sam, and Joe. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sybil Whitson and Betty Jean Brown and two brothers, Clayton Goad and Noble Goad. Survived by her brother Kenneth Goad of Virginia.
We also would like to acknowledge the wonderful kindness she received from her caregivers who went above and beyond to make sure our mother was as comfortable as possible. They are Karen Johnston, the late Marlene Sparks, Bonnie Gore, Margaret Dressel, Melanie Glacken, April Hardesty, Jean Sard, Megan Engle and Deborah Bridges.
On Wednesday, December 7th, the family will receive friends from 5 until 7 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A located at 12 S. Second Street in Denton MD. On Friday, December 9th, a 2PM graveside service will be held at the White Marsh Cemetery in Trappe MD.
