Olive Margaret Sheckells of Denton, MD, formerly of Pasadena, MD, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 4, 2021. She was 98 years old.
Born in Linthicum, MD in 1922, Mrs. Sheckells was the daughter of the late Charles Edward Florey and Louise Christina Schmidt. She had moved to Denton in 2009. A 1940 graduate of Glen Burnie High School, Mrs. Sheckells was an Inspector of airplane motor piston rings for the Koppers Co. until she retired in 1984. She was a wonderful artist and had enjoyed gardening as well. As a young lady, she bowled, played softball, and rode horses. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who said she had really enjoyed her life.
Mrs. Sheckells is survived by two sons: Frederick W. Bradbury and his wife Susan and Gary Lee Bradbury, both of Denton; three grandchildren: Adrian, Walter, and Fred; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Frederick W. Bradbury, Jr. and Walter Albert Sheckells; a sister, Anna; and two brothers, Harry and Edward.
A memorial service will be private for the immediate family only. If friends wish to send memorial donations in Mrs. Sheckells’ memory, the family suggests sending them to Compass Hospice, 160 Coursevall Dr., Centreville, MD 21617.
