Oliver G. Melvin

     Oliver G. Melvin of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Denton, MD, passed away from complications of Covid-19 at the Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE on Sunday, April 25, 2021. He was 71 years old.

     Born in Easton, MD, Mr. Melvin was the son of the late Arthur (Aukie) M. Melvin, Jr. and Mamie Henrietta Patience Meeks Melvin. He was a 1967 graduate of North Caroline High School in Ridgely, MD.

     Mr. Melvin had spent numerous years working on the subway construction in Washington, D.C. and in San Francisco, CA. For the past 20 years, he was a loyal employee to Jack in retail sales at a safety supply store. He was appreciated for his even temper and reliable work ethic.

     Mr. Melvin is survived by his daughter, Amy Spring of Portland, OR; a brother, Arthur (Buddy) M. Melvin III and his wife Sallie of Bethany Beach, DE; and two grandchildren, Fiona R. Spring and Easton T. Spring, both of Portland.
