Patricia Ann Browne

On August 12, 2024, Patricia Ann Browne of Denton, MD, passed away at Arcadia of Denton. She was 89 years old.

Born at home on Sixth Street in Denton, Pat was the daughter of the late Walter B. Browne and Mabel Elizabeth Woodward Browne. She graduated from Caroline High School in Denton in 1952 and from Washington College in 1956. She took advanced education courses, even spending a summer semester at Duke University. She taught English and French for 36 years at Caroline High School and North Caroline High School making her a very well-known and much beloved integral part of the Denton community. Following her teaching career, she participated in various arts, with a focus on watercolor and winning local awards for her art, including photography.  In 2024, Pat introduced the Patricia A. Browne Scholarship, an annual scholarship provided to a Caroline County student. 

Pat is survived by a cousin, Donnie McClyment (Vivian), friends from her watercolor group, the many friends from her lifetime, and her best friend and caretaker, Robin Fox of Denton.

A public viewing/visitation will be from 11 to Noon on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 South Second Street in Denton followed by a 12 Noon funeral service. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery.
