Patricia George Meyers

Patricia George Meyers of Queenstown, MD, passed away peacefully on April 4th, 2026.

Pat, as she was affectionately known, was born October 26, 1937 in Baltimore, MD. She spent most of her life in Queen Anne’s County except for a couple of relatively short stays in Las Vegas, NV. She lived a life marked by dedication to her family, kindness and a subtle but keen sense of humor. She always had a smile on her face and seemed to be perpetually happy. Pat was known for being a wonderful and loving mom, wife, sister, grandma, great grandma, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was very proud of her 25 year career working in the Queen Anne’s County Treasurer’s office from which she retired in 1999. Pat also had a love of children in general. For many years, she volunteered with the Queen Anne’s County Public Library where she would receive books to read to children both at the library and various day-care establishments.

Pat is survived by her sons Brett Meyers (Jeanne) of Greensboro and Karl Meyers of Goldsboro; her grandchildren Chris Higdon, Megan Ozman, Josh Horney, Molly Miller, Cheyenne Horney; sisters Margaret (Peggy) Quimby and Lilian (Lyn) Jefferson; stepsisters Janelle DeCorte and June Bullion; sisters-in-law Penny Carley, and Lucille Langlois; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pat was preceded in death by her husband of almost 56 years, Robert (Bob) Meyers, daughter Barri Grace Horney, mother Eleanor Hopkins Hunter, father Joseph M. George, Jr., and brother Joseph M. George, III.

Services and burial will be private. The family hopes that anyone who wishes to remember Patricia will do so by contributing to Compass Hospice or the Queen Anne’s County Library in her name.
