Peter Felix Babauta Lizama of Agat/Santa Rita/Mangilao, Guam aka Peaches, passed away at Shore Memorial Hospital in Easton, MD on Monday, December 28, 2020 at the age of 61. Pete was a God loving, God fearing man, a Catholic Cursillista and a member of the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of the Virtues Council 11558.
Peter was predeceased by his parents Galo Dumanal and Rosa Camacho Babauta Lizama, his maternal grandparents RitaTaitano Camacho and Felix Babauta, paternal grandparents Rosalia Dumanal and Pedro Lizama, his parents in law Rita Untalan Aflague and Antonio Cruz George. He is also predeceased by his brother Michael, brother in law Andrew George, sisters in law Selma Luzanta Lizama and Luwina George Borja; and his little angel granddaughter, Alycia Raelyn.
Peter is a 1978 graduate of George Washington Sr. High School in Guam. He was employed by Guam Cable TV then Aquaquest Video Production on Guam. Peter and his wife had moved from Guam to Japan and eventually to Alaska where they have resided since April 2007. He enjoyed fishing in Alaska, hunting in Delaware, cooking in anyone's kitchen or BBQing anytime anywhere, most of all he enjoyed his family. He would cook for whatever occasion to have his family gather. He came to stay at his daughter Rita and son-in-law Issael’s house in Maryland while he hunted with his Uncle Joe Aflague at Uncle Joe’s property in Delaware. His wife and children came from Anchorage, Atlanta and Corpus Christi and were able to be with him until he died in his son Brians’ arms.
Peter is survived by his wife Patricia George Lizama; two daughters, Sheena Lizama and Rita Lizama-Smith (Issael); two sons, Peter Lizama, Jr. (Tikira Orr) of Atlanta, GA and Brian Lizama (Tamara Noack Lizama) of Corpus Christi, TX; the two greatest loves of his life, his grandchildren, Isaac Elijah and Alani Nichole Smith.
He will also be missed by his brothers and sisters, Galo Lizama, Jr. (Witko), Rita Reyes (Jesse), Donna Lizama, Jess Lizama of Guam and Rosa “Kai” Lizama of Alaska; his in-laws Robert, Raymond (Joanna), Clarrissa George all of Guam, and Stephen (Doreen) George of Corpus Christi, Texas and Anthony (Helen) of North Pole, Alaska. His fairy adopted children, Antoinette George, Dottie George, Derick Cepeda, Jean Bartness and her son Aiden, his hunting buddies Uncle Joe Aflague and Jeremiah Snader, and numerous other family members and friends that have become family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday, January 4, 2021, at the St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church on First Street in Denton. Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 9:45 prior to the service at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 S. Second Street in Denton or at the family home after the Mass on Monday Jan 4. The interment will be private.
