Philip Samuel Smith of Lewes, DE, formerly of Elkton, MD and Woodbury, NJ, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. He was 69 years old.
Born in Woodbury, NJ, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Samuel Wilkins Smith and Rita Zilda Donnelly Smith. His wife of 25 years, Kathleen Kline-Smith, passed away on January 19, 2021.
Mr. Smith was a graduate of Deptford High School in Deptford Township, NJ. He was the Plant technician manager at the Dupont Experimental Station in Wilmington, DE where he retired in 2016 after 35 years. He was a fan of muscle cars, model trains, and camping. His family (especially his grandchildren) and friends at Dupont were extremely important to him.
A loving stepdad and grandfather, he is survived by his stepchildren, Lisa and Gary Kline of Elkton, MD, and his two grandchildren, Caden and Calli Finucan. He is also survived by his brother, Steve Smith Sr. (Kun), his nephew Steve Smith Jr and his niece Marie Smith of Westville, NJ. He is also survived by many cousins in NJ and CA.
The memorial service will be private.
