Phyllis Trice Carroll, 90, of Ridgely, MD, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Homestead Manor in Denton, MD. She was born on May 24, 1934, the youngest of four and only daughter of the late Francis H. and Emma (Melvin) Trice, growing up in Andersontown near Denton.
Phyllis was married to Dawson H. Carroll, Sr., who passed away in 2006. She worked alongside her husband on their dairy farm outside of Ridgely. She had three sons, the oldest being Dawson H. Carroll, Jr. who passed away in 1967 from a farming accident.
Phyllis will be remembered as a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was a very talented seamstress and cook, cooking for many of the help on the farm.
Phyllis is survived by her two sons, Bill (Jane) and Doug (Diana); four grandchildren and their families; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her son, Dawson H. (Dawdy) Carroll, Jr.; three brothers: Raymond, Dawson, and Francis (Jukie) Trice.
The family would like to express their thanks to the many people at Homestead Manor for their kindness and compassion shown over the last nine years; and also for making sure she was able to watch the Baltimore Orioles baseball games!
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 4th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. in Denton where friends may visit with the family from 10 until 11 before the service. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery.
