R. Donald Larrimore of Denton, MD, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Compass Hospice in Centreville, MD. He was 94 years old.
Born in Linwood, PA on December 24, 1928, was the son of the late James Costin Larrimore and Hilda Ruth Singer Larrimore. He grew up on a farm in Price, MD and graduated from the Centreville High School in 1947.
Mr. Larrimore was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and was part of the support for the Berlin Air Lift. He was a very good baseball player and played on the 1st Army Air Corps baseball team at McGuire Air Force Base. As a civilian, he worked at the Dover Air Force Base as a Manager of aircraft maintenance equipment, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Masons Lodge number 28 and a past commander of American Legion Post 29. Mr. Larrimore was a volunteer coach for the Denton Little League.
Mr. Larrimore is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jean F. Larrimore of Denton; a daughter, Melinda L. Conner (Rick) of Denton; a son, Timothy D. Larrimore (Muriel) of Pylesville, MD; three brothers: Paul Larrimore of Florida, John Larrimore of Tunis Mills, MD and David Larrimore of Cheswold, DE; a sister, Jean Jackson of Wilmington, DE; six grandchildren: Ben Clark (Lindsey) of Denton, Mark Conner of Denton, Chase Conner of Denton, Kaitlyn Larrimore (Jake) of Pylesville, MD, Christian Larrimore of Bel Air, MD, and Maddison Larrimore of Pylesville; and four great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a grandson, Chad Clark; two brothers, Charles C. Larrimore, and Allen Larrimore; and two sisters, Evelyn Frank and Catherine Casey.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, January 3rd, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street in Denton where friends may call from 12 to 1 before the service. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery.
