R. Dale Williamson, Sr. of Greenwood, DE, formerly of Federalsburg, MD, passed away at the Bayhealth Medical Center in Milford, DE on Saturday, March 27, 2021. He was 70 years old.
Born in Federalsburg, Mr. Williamson was the son of the late George H. and Cordelia Clevenger Williamson. He was in the logging business until retiring in 2012. He then worked for Brent Adams, Jr. driving a grain truck. Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife, Lucille (Louanne) A. Williamson, of Greenwood whom he married May 11, 2013; his son, Roger (R.D.) Williamson, Jr. (Krystle); Luanne’s three daughters: Christel Porter (James Porter, III) of Hartly, DE, Tracy Richardson (Tim) of Easton, MD, and Holly Boyles of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Betty Williamson Flint (Wallace) of Selmer TN and Donna Crews (Keith) of Mardela Springs, MD; three brothers: George Williamson, Jr. (Betty Lee) of Williamsburg, MD, Gene Williamson of Federalsburg, and Butch Williamson (Dottie) of Federalsburg; and eleven grandchildren: Avery, James, Alton, Jasmyn, Reif, Alex, Austin, Wyatt, Hunter, Jayden, and CheyAnne. He was preceded in death by five sisters: Virginia Tull, Mary Jane Pollard, Bertha Ellen Williamson, Doris Williamson Jones, and Norma Lee Williamson Jones; and three brothers: Melvin Williamson, David Williamson, and Johnny Williamson.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, April 2nd, in the Bloomery UM Church Cemetery near Federalsburg. The pallbearers will be Brent Adams, III, Brent Adams, II, Chris Adams, James Porter, III, Gary Willoughby, J.C. Williamson, and Gary Williamson.
