R. Wayne Powers

     Ralph Wayne Powers, affectionately known as Wayne or Pop, of Harrington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2025, at Bayhealth Hospital in Dover. He was 77.

     Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Wayne was the son of the late Ralph and Mary Powers. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Wayne was a dedicated member of the Lions Club, serving with both the Capital City and Smyrna chapters, and held the role of Vice President for two years. He found great purpose in service and even greater joy in being a grandfather. His love for his grandchildren was evident in the way he supported them in every endeavor.

     Mr. Powers is survived by 2 sons and 3 daughters, Brian Jones of Harrington, DE, his wife Karen and their boys, Landon & Cameron; Cynthia Mueller of Milford, DE, her husband Chris, and their children Madelyn and Chase; Stephen Powers of NC, his wife Kelly and their children, Kaela, Olivia, and Ethan; Aly Meiklejohn of Queen Anne, MD, her husband Randy, and their daughter, Alexis; Lori Marino and her family; brother, Eddie Powers and his wife Janet and their children. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Maxine Powers, and brother, Bill Powers.

     In accordance with Wayne’s wishes, a private family farewell and celebration of life will be held. There will be no public services or visitation. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in Denton.
