Robert (Bob) Osinski Obituary

Robert (Bob) S. Osinski, a beloved father, grandfather, partner, and lifelong learner, passed away on May 14, 2025. He was 80 years old.

Born on November 8, 1944, Robert was the son of the late John Francis Osinski and Stella Magdaline Salamon Osinski of Denton, MD. He attended Salisbury State College, where he played both basketball and soccer, and later went on to earn his graduate degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Robert was a devoted and curious soul, whose life was marked by deep intellectual passion and a wholehearted love for those around him. A professor of geography and computer technology at Prince George’s Community College in Bowie, MD, Robert inspired countless students with his knowledge, enthusiasm, and sense of wonder about the world.

Outside the classroom, Robert’s interests were as vast as the landscapes he studied. He found peace in gardening, joy in surf fishing along the North Carolina coast, and meaning in traveling near and far. He was an avid reader and thinker, always eager to learn something new and pursue his next passion project.

Above all, Robert was a dedicated and loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his son, Michael Osinski, and Michael’s wife, Elena Osinski, and their daughter, Diana; his daughter, Alexandra DuVall, and her children, Audrey Johnston, Natalie Johnston, and Aidan Johnston. He is also survived by his cherished partner, Collot Guerard of Galesville, MD.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Gemeny, and his brother, John Osinski.

Robert will be remembered for his warmth, curiosity, and generous spirit. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the knowledge he shared, and the family he so deeply loved.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
