Robert W. Cross of Ruther Glen, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025. He was 80 years old.
Born on February 25, 1945, in Morristown, New Jersey, Robert lived a full and meaningful life dedicated to his family, his work, and his country. A proud Vietnam veteran, he served his nation with honor and carried that same sense of duty and integrity throughout his life.
Following his military service, Robert built a successful career as an accountant and later established his own business, earning the respect and trust of clients and colleagues alike.
Robert was married to his beloved wife, Sylvia Cross, for nearly 59 years. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on love, and family. He is also survived by his two sons, John Cross (Karen) and Kevin Cross (Susan). Robert was a devoted and proud grandfather to Megan Boisvert (Patrick), Brandon Cross (Hannah), and Logan Cross, and a cherished great-grandfather to Ava and Hadley.
Robert will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
A joint graveside service for both Robert and his wife Sylvia will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in the Denton Cemetery, 24865 Meeting House Road in West Denton.
