Rodney Lewis Obituary

Rodney William Lewis of Preston passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born on February 4, 1947, in Easton, Maryland, Rodney was the son of Rembert Jerome Lewis and Virginia Fluharty Lewis.

From an early age, Rodney developed a deep love for the outdoors. He spent countless hours hunting, trapping, and fishing, and he cherished sharing stories of those days spent outside with his gun and fishing pole. He attended Easton High School, where he played on the varsity football and wrestling teams. Following graduation, Rodney pursued some college before enlisting in the United States Army, serving his country in Vietnam.

After returning home, Rodney continued to follow his passion for the outdoors. In later years, he worked commercially as a crabber and fisherman. Alongside his wife, he co-founded R & R Aquafarms, dedicating many years to the aquaculture business, which they continued until his passing. Together, they also enjoyed spending winters in Islamorada, where they fished and caught stone crabs.

Rodney was known as one of the hardest-working individuals anyone could meet. He instilled that same work ethic in his family—whether they wanted it or not. A true jack of all trades, he had a remarkable ability to build, fix, or improve just about anything, often going above and beyond in the process.

He is survived by his loving wife, Robin Lewis; his five children, Roger Lewis, Amanda Robison (Ricky), Douglas Higgs (Logan), Joseph Meeks (Kristen), and Cory Meeks (Katie); fourteen grandchildren, Livia, Liam, Brianna, Kaitlyn, Jaidyn, Lewis, Larkin, Delaney, Kamryn, Jordyn, Reagyn, Rhett, Eva, and Ellie; and his brother, Ronald Lewis (Lynn).

In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his brother, Jerome Lewis.

Rodney will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his love of the outdoors, and his dedication to his family.
