Roland C.. Kent

     Roland C. Kent of Easton, MD, died at the Talbot Hospice on Monday, December 21, 2020. He was 88 years old.

     Born on November 16, 1932 in New York City, New York, Mr. Kent was the son of the late Franz Herman Kuehlke and Irene Wilhelmine Kuehlke. He spent his youth in Germany and Italy, graduated from high school in New Jersey, and attended evening classes in a number of colleges in various States and overseas. He started his military career with the New Jersey National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve with several periods of active duty as an enlisted man and as an officer in Germany and Korea. He retired as a Major in 1976.

     After attending law school at the University Of Maryland School Of Law, he clerked for the Maryland Court of Appeals during 1971. He opened his law office in Denton in 1972 and practiced until his retirement in 2004. He was also the Court Auditor and Trust Clerk of the Circuit Court for Caroline County until 2007.

     While living in Denton, he was the past chairman of the Economic Development Commission, and was the past president of Rotary, the Denton Chamber of Commerce, and the Denton Elementary PTA. He was a Life Member of the American Legion and VFW and had also been the County Attorney for several years.

     Mr. Kent is survived by his wife, Marianne; his son, Andrew Kent (Tracey); and his two beloved grandchildren, Reagan and Hayden.
