Ronald A. Stafford of Hillsboro, MD, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the UM Shore Medical Center in Easton, MD. He was 77 years old.
Born in Greensboro, MD, Mr. Stafford was the son of the late Wesley Frederick Stafford and Elizabeth Ann Wright Stafford. He was a 1964 graduate of North Caroline High School in Ridgely.
Ronnie had worked for Sheetz Construction in Baltimore before driving for UPS for 26 years, retiring in 2003. An active member of his community, he had served in the MD National Guard for 7 years and had been a Hillsboro Town Commissioner for 36 years. Ronnie was fond of traveling with his family and friends. He was an avid camper, a fan of the Baltimore Ravens, and liked to refinish furniture. Most of all, he was a great husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family.
Mr. Stafford is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy M. Stafford of Hillsboro; his son, Larry Stafford (Melinda) of Hillsboro; his daughter, Heidi Stafford Aviles (Earl) of Ridgely, MD; a brother, Dale W. Stafford, Sr. of Preston, MD; three grandchildren: Brianna Stafford (Bobby Graff), Alayna Stafford (Gus Clark), and Brendan Aviles; and two great grandchildren, Colton Graff and Parker Graff. He was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Perry, and a sister, Sharon Blackwell.
Pallbearers will be Bud Pine, Dale Stafford, Earl Aviles, Steve Higdon, Jim Phillips, Tom Reilly, and John Shoemaker. Jerry Wheaton will be an honorary pallbearer.
Friends can call from 6 until 8 on Wednesday evening, December 13th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street in Denton. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, December 14th, at the Hillsboro-Queen Anne United Methodist Church on Main Street in Hillsboro. The interment will be in the Green Mount Cemetery on Cemetery Road in Hillsboro.
