Ruby was born near Seaford, Delaware on February 16, 1942. She was the daughter of loving parents, Catherine and Roy Adams. Ruby is survived by a sister, Jane Plummer Adams of Annapolis, MD; two nieces, Jenny Plummer-Welker (Greg) of Bowie, MD and Jackie Sprow (Rodney) of Genesee, PA; a stepson, Reilly Gordon of Great Falls, VA; and great niece and nephews: Ellie Sprow (Garrett), Ezra Sprow, and Josey Sprow. After graduating in 1960 from North Caroline High School, the first class to do so, Ruby obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. She loved being in the Delta Delta Sorority.

Ruby had a variety of careers including teaching at both Sanford Prep School in Hockessin, DE and Rehoboth High School, Rehoboth, DE, managing The Canyon restaurant in Rehoboth, helping domestic violence survivors, and working as both travel and real estate agents.
