Ruthanna West Hollingsworth

Ruthanna West Hollingsworth died Sunday, October 13, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was 90 years old.

Born at home on Second St. in Denton, MD, on May 9, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Carlton V. West, Sr., and Anna Caroline Surendorf West. She graduated from Caroline High School in 1952.

On July 12, 1952, she married W. Henry Hollingsworth, Sr. They resided in Caroline and Talbot counties throughout their 62 years of marriage. Mr. Hollingsworth passed in 2014.

Ann was a bookkeeper and secretary for several businesses in Talbot County. She and her husband enjoyed attending Old Starr Church for family reunions and annual homecomings.

Mrs. Hollingsworth is survived by two daughters: Susan Behrens of Cordova, MD, and Jane Carroll and her husband Bill of Goldsboro; a son, W. Henry Hollingsworth, Jr. and his wife Lyn of Easton; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Thomas S. Chambers (Susan) of Arizona. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Carlton V. West, Jr.; a sister, Catherine West Mangold; and a son-in-law, William A. Behrens.

Friends may visit with the family from 10-11AM on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Moore Funeral Home, P.A. 12 S. 2nd St. Denton, MD. The funeral service will begin at 11AM. Burial will be in Denton Cemetery.
