Obituary

     S. Lewis Anthony of Greensboro, MD passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Bayhealth Kent Campus in Dover, DE. He was 97 years old.

     Born at home near Greensboro, Mr. Anthony was the son of the late William Henry Anthony and Susie Melvina Flowers Anthony. His wife of sixty-five years, Gloria May Anthony, died December 22, 2011.

     Mr. Anthony graduated from Greensboro High School in 1943. He joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. After WWII, he became a Maintenance Supervisor for a chemical production company. He loved farming and gardening as well as watching the Orioles and the Ravens. In addition, he was a past member of the VFW Memorial Post 7937.

     Mr. Anthony is survived by a son, Randall “Randy” L. Anthony of Wyoming, DE; and two daughters: Cheryl L. Anthony of Austin, TX and Susan Marie Solheim and her husband Manley of Virginia Beach, VA; five grandchildren: Shelly L. Ronnau and her husband Brian, Benjamin M. Solheim, Eric W. Solheim and his wife Amanda, Janine E. Trinidad and her husband Ty Denton, and Julia M. Trinidad and her husband Benjamin S. Quinn; and six great grandchildren: Aidan, Blake, Emma Gloria, Julia Grace, Isabella, and Pepper. He was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.

     A graveside service will be private for the family only.
