Samuel Pardoe Obituary

Samuel Lee Pardoe of Cordova, MD, passed away on January 7, 2023 at Mallard Bay Nursing and Rehab in Cambridge, MD. He was 89 years old.

Born on the family farm, in Cordova, MD on August 24, 1933, Sam was the son of the late Claude Grover Pardoe and Bertha Mae Pardoe of Cordova, MD.

Mr. Pardoe graduated from Cordova High School in 1950. In 1955, Mr. Pardoe kicked off his long coaching career, along with representatives from Trappe, Oxford, and St. Michaels, Mr. Pardoe helped to organize the Homerun Baker Little League and he coached the first Cordova team to a 20-0 record. Mr. Pardoe continued his coaching career at the Talbot County YMCA as the junior basketball coach, and coached “the best team” to ever play in the Annual Red Shield Boys Club Invitational Tournament in 1970. Mr. Pardoe also taught physical education and went on to coach the basketball team at the country school for 15 years, which is where he met the love of his life, Connie. He and Connie were married on June 18, 1978 and they made their home on Kitty's Corner Road for the next 41 years.

After leaving the Country School, Mr. Pardoe drove a school bus in Talbot County as a contractor and then later for the county until his retirement. During those years Mr. Pardoe spent his free time coaching his daughter, Lisa, through little league, senior league, and travel softball. He also helped to organize a fast pitch softball clinic for girls on the midshore. After his retirement, Mr. Pardoe enjoyed watching every channel’s news broadcast each evening, as well as watching the Orioles, the Ravens, and Terps basketball. Mr. Pardoe’s other favorite past time was meeting his friends for breakfast almost every day until his health started to fail.

Mr. Pardoe is survived by his daughter, Lisa Pardoe; a nephew, Robby Pardoe; a niece, Christina Pardoe; a stepson Mark James Palamaras, Jr. and his loyal sidekick cattle dog, Didgeri. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pardoe was preceded in death by his wife Constance Elaine Pardoe, his brother Claude Robert Pardoe, Sr., and sister-in-law Mary Lee Pardoe.
