Sherry Noren Elliott, 77, of Lewes DE, passed away peacefully with her daughters and husband by her side on Tuesday May 14, 2024, at Beebe Hospital.
Sherry is survived by her husband Jerry and her two daughters, Tara Jackson (husband Scott, children Ryan and Brody) of Ellicott City, MD and Nicole (Nikki) Hooten (husband Robert, children Charlie and Kate) of Ellicott City, MD and her stepchildren Jeff Elliott (wife Sheila, children Jenna and Alec) and Jamie Delaney (husband Donovan and children Donovan Jr and Kendall).
She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, Dr. Charles Robert Noren (Chuck), her brother-in-law Dr. Thomas Snee, and her parents, William L. and Jean Fultz. Being an only child, she was thrilled to have a special sister-in-law, Kay Noren Snee of Washington, PA and wonderful nephews- Ryan, Brent, Jeff and Chad Snee and their families.
Sherry grew up in Martinsburg, WV. After graduating Martinsburg High School, Sherry attended West Virginia University, earning a BA in English, History and Education. She loved being a Delta Gamma and made lifelong friends. She later attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in NYC and had a great time living in the big apple.
While working at Dupont one summer, she was set up on a blind date by a supervisor. Turns out the supervisor would one day be her father-in-law! She married Chuck in 1969. They spent two years overseas with the Navy living in Guam. This was an exciting time in their lives visiting Asian countries and making friends. After the Navy, they settled down in Denton, Maryland in 1973 and Chuck established a dental practice. They made wonderful friends and spent quality time at the Caroline Country Club playing golf and socializing.
Sherry had a successful real estate career for thirty-four years. With three other women she owned a real estate company, Choptank Realty. They eventually sold to Champion Realty where she continued to work as co-manager with her work twin, Anne Jones.
Sherry met Jerry in modern fashion on Match.com in 2009. They shared a common interest in travel, playing cards, music, and family. They married in 2010 and enjoyed many trips together. Highlights included visiting Sherry’s daughter in Singapore and getting to explore over 40 countries, cruises to the Mediterranean, Europe, and Alaska.
A social butterfly, she never missed a chance to catch up on the latest news, shop with her girls (Chicos was her fav) or play cards with friends. She loved playing golf, games, going to the beach, and being with her grandchildren.
Sherry’s favorite thing to say to her girls was “keep having fun” and even when times were tough, she made sure that this was the case.
The family will host a visitation from 12-1:00 at Moore Funeral Home in Denton, MD on May 19, 2024 with services following at 1:00. LADIES! In honor of Sherry and her flair for fashion, please wear bright colors, a favorite print or a pop of red.
