H. Shirley Moore of Delmar, MD, formerly of Greensboro, MD, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 87 years old.
Born in Baltimore, Mrs. Moore was the daughter of the late Charles Bollman and Helen Dorothy Forrest Bollman and her late stepfather, George A. Wildt. Her husband, William Raymond Moore, Sr., passed away June 21, 2005, and her son, Michael Steven Moore, passed away in 2009.
Mrs. Moore had lived in Greensboro, MD for many years until she moved to Delmar in 2017. She was the Director of Greensboro Baptist Home School Umbrella in Caroline County for 18 years and had tutored many students. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition, she was well-known for her homemade lollipops!
Mrs. Moore is survived by four daughters: Linda Moore Urie of Salisbury, MD, Darlene Moore Hayward (Mickey) of Belle Haven, VA, Brenda S. Moore Brown of Delmar, and Debra Moore Frazier (Mark) of Delmar; a son, William R. Moore, Jr. of Glen Burnie, MD; 23 grandchildren; 47 great Grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, husband, and son, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Carpentieri.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 18th, at the Parkway Church of God located at 600 Edison Street in Salisbury where friends may visit with the family from 10:15 until 11. The interment will follow at approximately 2 PM in the Greensboro Cemetery in Greensboro, MD.
