Stella I. McNeil

Stella I. McNeil of Denton, MD, passed away at the Felton, DE home of her daughter, Maria, on Sunday, July 19, 2026, after a difficult illness.  She was 83 years old.

     Born in Schenectady, NY on September 19, 1942, Mrs. McNeil was the daughter of the late Joshua William Smith and Sophie Madeline Stanley Smith.  She has lived in Denton since June 1962. 

     A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Mrs. McNeil is survived by her husband, Naylor McNeil of Denton; three sons: Josh McNeil (Goldie) of Laurel, DE, Samuel H. McNeil (Danielle) of Denton, and Shane McNeil of Denton; two daughters, Gladys d. Maynard of Bridgeville and Maria Carter (Rodney) of Felton, DE; 16 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by 5 siblings. 

     There will be a public visitation from 5pm until 9pm on Thursday, July 23rd, at the Living Waters Assembly located at 9058 Double Hills Road in Denton where the funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, July 24th.  The interment will follow in the Denton Cemetery in West Denton.
