Susan Elizabeth Bunker of Greensboro, MD, passed away peacefully at Compass Regional Hospice in Centreville on Monday, November 1, 2021 after a lengthy battle with renal failure. She was 76 years old.
Born in Annapolis, MD on October 11, 1945, Susan was the daughter of the late Albert Harland Bunker, Jr. and Dorothy Christine Fogwell Bunker. She grew up in Arnold and was a 1963 graduate of Severna Park High School and received her B.A. from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Susan was a librarian for the Anne Arundel County Library for 25 years and an administrative assistant at St. Luke's United Methodist Church for 5 years after moving to Greensboro. She loved to read, travel, antiquing, spending time with family and friends, family traditions, genealogy and most of all penguins. She was a member of Arnold Asbury United Methodist Church growing up and then St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Denton, MD where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and several committees at both. She loved her church family and friends.
Susan is survived by her brother, Dennis Bunker of Greensboro, MD, nephew, Charles 'Burnie' Cummings (Sherry) of Lothian, Md, niece, Wendy Bunker (Steve) of Greensboro, MD, niece, Candyce Bunker Hilgenberg (Junior) of Galesville, MD, nephew, Robert Harland Bunker of Greensboro, MD and niece, Chelsea Anne Bunker of Graniteville, SC; in addition she is survived by ten great and six great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Bunker and niece, Cassandra Bunker.
