Susie O. Booze

Susie Oros Booze of Denton, MD, passed away peacefully and into the arms of her Lord on Monday, February 20, 2023, at the age of 101 years. Susie was born on June 18, 1921, on the Oros Farm in Denton, MD. After graduating Caroline High School, she left the family farm to study at Strayer College in Washington D.C. After receiving her Bachelors Degree, she accepted a position with the Federal Reserve Board, where she gave over 40 years of service and received many awards.  In retirement she began her next career of volunteer and charitable work - much of which was rooted in the Church, including 35 years of ministry at Saint Martin’s in Ridgley.  Susie was incredibly independent, hard-working and a devout Catholic that will be deeply missed by those she loved. 

Susie is survived by her only son, John P. Booze and his wife Karen of Oakton, VA; a granddaughter, Jennifer L. Booze, London; a grandson, John E. Booze and his wife Carly of Falls Church, VA; two great-grandchildren: John Michael Booze and Henry Everett Booze; three nieces and two nephews. Mrs. Booze was preceded in death by her parents, John Oros and Susana Bacsak, her husband Elmer Everett Booze and her brother, Paul J. Oros. 

There will be a public viewing/visitation from 4 pm until 6 pm on Thursday, February 23rd with Prayers at 5 pm at Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. 2nd St. Denton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 24th, at the St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church on First Street in Denton.  The interment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery on Greensboro Road.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers please send a memorial donation to the St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church, 408 Central Ave., Ridgely, MD 21660.
