Sylvia J. (Fleetwood) Cross

     Sylvia J. Cross of Ashland passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 4, 2026. She was 82 years old.  

     Born March 1, 1943, in New Jersey. Sylvia was a devoted mother, grand-mother, and friend, remembered for her kindness, humor, adventurous spirit, and deep compassion for others. She was married to Robert W. Cross for nearly 59 years, sharing a life centered on love and family.

     She served as a registered nurse for most of her adult life, working in nursing homes, as a traveling nurse, and later as a home hospice nurse. For a period of time, she also owned and grew a small business before returning to nursing, which she considered her true calling.

     An avid traveler, Sylvia enjoyed exploring the world and creating lasting memories with family and close friends.

     She is survived by two loving sons, John Cross and Kevin Cross; two daughters-in-law, Karen and Susan; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many dear friends who will miss her deeply.

     A joint graveside service for both Sylvia and her husband Robert will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in the Denton Cemetery, 24865 Meeting House Road in West Denton.
