Walter G. Hamby

     Walter G. Hamby of Federalsburg, MD passed away peacefully on Monday, August 23, 2021, at the Chestertown Hospice Center in Chestertown, MD. He was 85 years old.

     Born in Ashe County, NC, Mr. Hamby was the son of the late Benjamin and Mary McNeill Hamby. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth E Hamby, two brothers, Dean Hamby and Thurman Hamby; and two sisters, Minnie Lake and Nola Walls.

     Mr. Hamby had been a self-employed auto interior upholsterer for many years. He loved to fish and go to yard sales.

     Mr. Hamby is survived by five daughters: Susie Morgan of Dover, DE, Jane Scott of Woodside, DE, Brenda Adams of Milford, DE, Christy Spain and Bobbie Jo Downey, both of Virginia; two half sisters, Shirley Watson and Annie Goodman, both of NC; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by four step-daughters and four step-sons.
