Mrs. Wanda F. Collins Shorts, of Denton, Maryland, passed away in her home on January 13, 2024. She was 73 years of age.
Mrs. Shorts spent her life caring for others, working as a nurse in nursing homes, hospitals, and in private practice doctor's offices. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She touched many lives and found friendship and fellowship in her devotion to God at the Wayside Church of Denton.
Wanda is survived by her sons: Steven E. Redcliffe and William Shorts, Jr.; her daughters: Ruthann Scudder, Velda Wieczorek, and Missy Shorts. She is also survived by her father, Orbin Collins; three brothers: Austin Collins, Floyd Collins, and Donald Collins; two sisters: Cindy Hamilton and Bonnie Jefferson; as well several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Shorts was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Collins; her husband, William Shorts Sr.; her daughter, Stacy Redcliffe; and her grandson, Kevin Shorts.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. The family requests donations be sent to Compass Regional Hospice 160 Coursevall Dr. Centreville, MD 21617 in Wanda's memory.
